1. DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
It is advisable to make an appointment to avoid disappointments but we do try to assists walk-in’s if time allows it.
2. HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
We prefer that the appointment is made in person, as this allows us to discuss your design and schedule a time and date. If for any reason you are unable to visit us just contact us to set up your free consultation.
3. WHAT DO I WEAR FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Wear what you feel comfortable in, and will allow for easy access to the area being tattooed. Private room available if necessary.
4. HOW MUCH IS A TATTOO?
It is difficult to give an exact cost of a Tattoos. The design, size, colour, detail and placement will all be taken into consideration when costing your Tattoo. It is important to keep in mind that we can only give you an accurate price once the final design,size, and placement have been agreed on.
5. DOES TATTOOING / PIERCING HURTS?
YES, it will hurt, the level of pain is all depend upon your own pain tolerances. We DO NOT recommended that you take painkillers beforehand, as most thins the blood, making you more susceptible to bleeding during the procedure.
6. SHOULD I SAY SOMETHING TO MY TATTOO ARTIST IF I START FEELING SICK WHILE GETTING TATTOO?
Please do tell your Artist if you are feeling sick or funny. DO tell your Artist immediately, (don’t try to tough it out), so that he/ she can deal with it. Please keep in mind your Artist is prepared for it and knows how to handle it.
7. WILL I NEED A TOUCHUP?
Sun damage will cause fading of a tattoo in time so make sunblock your priority.
8. COLOR VERSES COMPLEXION?
Darker complexions have limitations to certain colours depending on size and placement (skin exposed to the sun on a regular basis will not hold color as well as skin that is protected from U.V).
9. CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL?
No consumption of alcohol 12 hours prior to getting tattooed, this may cause thinning of the blood and bad decisions.
10. MEDICAL BACKGROUND?
Gavin is certified by the Health Service Executive, Department of Public Health, Eastern Region, Dublin 8, Ireland by the Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist, Dr. Marie Laffoy, Aileen O’Brien 2005 for prevention of cross contamination, medical hygiene, first aid and Body Art Education.
11. WHAT AFTERCARE SHOULD I USE?
I have my new tattoo, now what should I do?
Keep the cover your artist has put on for you for 2 hours minimum and out of direct sunlight and saltwater including swimming pools.
After removal of cover wash with warm water and non-perfumed soap.
Pat dry with a clean towel, apply recommended aftercare cream, cover again with clingwrap and micropore tape overnight.
Repeat for 2 days, remember the 3 C’s – Clean, Cream, Cover. We also have an Aftercare Balm available instore. Minimal cream is better than too much cream.
Flaking will occur approximately 5-7 days after so remember keep applying aftercare cream when necessary. If your new tattoo is itchy it is a healthy sign but remember Do Not Scratch just apply more cream.
12., DO YOU DO COVER- UP WORK?
YES, we would gladly do it for you. Setup a free consultation with one of our talented Tattoo Artists. Please bring a broad variety of ideas with on what you would like the outcome to be and look like. You should keep an open mind and allow your Artist to have some freedom to successfully cover-up your old or unwanted Tattoo.
13. DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TO PREPARE?
YES, Please DO maintain a good personal hygiene.
14. WHAT BODY PART CAN I GET PIERCED?
Generally any part of your body can get pierced. These are your most common places to get pierced are: Nose, Lips, Eyes, Nipples, Navel and Tongue. We do offer piercings for both female and male that would like piercings done that are more sensitive. Come in for a consultation.
15. HOW DO I DECIDE WHAT I WANT?
We encourage to bring your own ideas to the studio and you can work with the Tattoo Artist to create a piece that will be right for you. Our skilled artists can then create. If your like you can bring in your own ideas and you can work with the Tattoo Artist to create a custom piece for you.
16. DO YOUR ARTISTS HAVE PORTFOLIOS FOR ME TO LOOK AT?
YES, the Artists have portfolios available to look at. You can even see their more recent work on Facebook. Pictures DON’T lie, and if they DON’T have a portfolio, it is best you invest in a good pair of running shoes and start running. Since Tattoos are permanent, you should make sure that your Tattoo Artist is more than qualified.
17. CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN WITH?
Your kids are welcome provided that they are being looked after and quite in the reception area, however it is not suiatble place for kids.
18. CAN I BRING ALL OF MY FRIENDS WITH ME WHEN I COME FOR MY TATTOO?
We do not recommend you bring all of your friends, however you can bring a friend or two for moral support. Only one other person can accompny you whilst being tattooed. It is always best to ask your Artists first.
